Tenzan is a tiny, low-altitude resort in Saga Prefecture that suits only the most forgiving visitors - those seeking a novelty experience, families with very young children on flat terrain, or locals wanting a quick snow fix. With just 1 km of piste, 188 m of vertical, and snow reliability rated at a mere 13/100, this is not a serious ski destination. The season runs December to May in theory, but don't expect consistent snow cover outside the coldest months.

The resort's main strength is its accessibility and affordability for what it is - a day pass costs JPY 6000, making it budget-friendly for a casual outing. Two lifts serve the modest terrain, and the base elevation of 721 m means snow conditions are highly variable and weather-dependent. There is virtually no off-piste opportunity (1/5 rating), so terrain variety is non-existent.

We'd only recommend Tenzan if you're in Saga Prefecture and want to introduce someone to skiing on a whim, or if you're collecting Japan's smallest resorts. For any serious skiing, even by Japanese standards, look elsewhere - this is a beginner's playground masquerading as a resort, not a destination worth planning a trip around.
