Ски центар Жари, Žari ski centre, Ski centar Žari ski resort

Žari is a tiny, local ski centre in central Serbia that suits day-trippers from nearby towns and families seeking a casual, low-cost introduction to skiing rather than serious skiers hunting vertical or varied terrain. With just 1 km of piste, 144 m of vertical, and two lifts, this is a beginner's hill pure and simple - think nursery slopes rather than a proper resort. The appeal is modest: cheap lift passes (EUR 32), accessible elevation, and a relaxed Balkan vibe for those within driving distance.

The honest caveats are substantial. Snow reliability is moderate at best (24/100), meaning you'll need to time visits carefully during the December-to-March season and may face marginal conditions even then. There is virtually no off-piste terrain (1/5 rating), so once you've lapped the single kilometre a few times, there's little else to explore. This is not a destination resort - it's a local hill for quick weekend runs or teaching absolute beginners. If you're seeking proper skiing, varied terrain, or reliable snow, look elsewhere in the Alps or further afield.

Žari works best as a convenient, budget-friendly option for Serbians and nearby Balkan visitors, or as a curiosity for ski collectors. Manage expectations accordingly.
