Alvaneu is a tiny, beginner-only resort in Graubünden that suits families with very young children or absolute novices seeking a gentle introduction to skiing in the Alps - nothing more. With just 0.8 km of piste, three easy runs, and a single lift serving a 55 m vertical drop, this is a training hill masquerading as a ski resort. The base elevation of 1142 m and moderate snow reliability (25/100) mean you'll be gambling on conditions; when snow is thin, the short runs become even less forgiving.

The honest caveat is stark: Alvaneu is not a destination. At CHF 78 for a day pass, you're paying full resort prices for what amounts to a nursery slope. There is no off-piste terrain (1/5 rating), no challenging skiing, and no reason to travel here unless you live nearby or are teaching a toddler their first pizza-and-french-fry turns. The season runs November to April, but with such marginal snow reliability, even that window is unreliable. If you want genuine Alpine skiing in Graubünden, look to Davos, Arosa, or Lenzerheide instead.
