Preggrabenhöhe ski resort

Preggrabenhöhe is a micro-resort in Styria that suits only the most local skiers or those with extremely modest expectations. With just 1 km of piste, 78 m of vertical, and four advanced runs served by two lifts, this is not a destination - it is a village slope. The terrain is steep (all runs are graded advanced), which suggests technical skiing in a confined space rather than varied, flowing descents.

The honest caveat is brutal: snow reliability sits at a mediocre 33/100, meaning you will frequently find yourself driving to this Austrian hillside only to find marginal conditions. At EUR 62 per adult day pass, you are paying mid-range prices for a beginner's-level terrain offering. Off-piste is negligible (1/5 rating), so there is no powder escape route when the groomed runs become tracked out within minutes.

We would only recommend Preggrabenhöhe to locals seeking a quick after-work run or families with very young children who need a gentle slope - except the terrain is all advanced, which rules out the latter entirely. For any skier planning a proper holiday, look elsewhere in the Alps.
