Tanay is a small, beginner-friendly resort in Russia's Kuzbass region that suits families and novice skiers looking for an affordable, low-pressure introduction to skiing. With 14 easy runs out of 18 total, the mountain is almost entirely geared toward learners, and the three-lift setup keeps things simple and manageable. The rock-bottom day pass price (RUB 3500) is remarkable value by any standard, making this an accessible option for budget-conscious groups.

However, we must be candid about the significant caveats. Snow reliability is poor at just 16/100 - this is a marginal snow climate where conditions are unpredictable and artificial snowmaking may be essential. The vertical drop of only 234 metres means runs are short and repetitive, and there is virtually no off-piste terrain (1/5 rating).
