Dixie Summit ski resort - Oregon, United States

    Dixie Summit ski resort

    United States · Oregon
    Season Open

Dixie Summit is a micro-resort in Oregon that suits only the most niche skier - those seeking a novelty visit, a local's quick fix, or a teaching hill for absolute beginners. With just 0.3 km of piste, 28 m of vertical, and a single lift, this is not a destination resort by any measure. It is, frankly, a practice slope masquerading as a ski area.

The honest strengths are minimal: it exists, it operates November through April, and snow reliability is rated as good. The caveats are severe. At USD 180 for an adult day pass, you are paying premium Alpine prices for what amounts to a few runs down a gentle slope. The off-piste rating of 1/5 confirms there is virtually nothing beyond the groomed terrain. You will exhaust the skiing here in under an hour, making it impossible to justify as anything but a local's occasional outing or a curiosity stop on a road trip through Oregon.

Skip Dixie Summit unless you live within 30 minutes and want a quick evening session. Everyone else should drive to a real resort - Timberline or Bachelor are both within reach of Oregon and offer actual skiing.
