Akagisan Daiichi is a micro-resort in Gunma Prefecture that operates as a local teaching hill rather than a destination ski area. With just 0.1 km of piste, a 7-meter vertical drop, and a single lift, this is essentially a beginner training ground for families and children learning to ski in Japan. The modest elevation (1369-1376 m) and moderate snow reliability mean conditions are unpredictable, and the resort depends heavily on artificial snow to maintain operations across its December-to-May season.

We recommend this only for absolute beginners, young children taking their first lessons, or locals seeking convenient nearby practice slopes. The single lift, negligible vertical, and minimal terrain mean even intermediate skiers will exhaust the hill in minutes. The JPY 6000 day pass is steep for what amounts to a practice slope, making it poor value compared to larger regional resorts.
