Yan'an International Ski Area is a beginner-focused resort in Shaanxi province that suits families and novice skiers looking for a gentle introduction to the sport in a non-Alpine setting. With just 0.8 km of piste, a 22 m vertical drop, and three runs (two easy, one intermediate), this is fundamentally a learning hill rather than a destination for serious skiing. The modest elevation and variable snow reliability mean conditions are unpredictable and the season short.

The resort's main strength is accessibility for complete beginners and young children in a region where skiing infrastructure is still developing. However, the extremely limited terrain means even intermediate skiers will exhaust the runs within hours. At CNY 400 for an adult day pass, the pricing is steep relative to what you get - that's premium-resort money for a small training area.
