金象山滑雪场 ski resort

Golden Elephant Ski Resort (金象山滑雪场) is a novelty destination for curious skiers in Anhui Province, not a serious ski trip. With just 0.2 km of piste, 29 m of vertical, and a single lift, this is essentially a beginner's slope or a photo opportunity rather than a functioning ski area. It suits day-trippers from nearby cities, families with young children taking their first turns, or travellers documenting China's emerging ski infrastructure - not anyone seeking meaningful skiing.

The resort's critical weakness is snow reliability, rated at just 10/100, meaning you'll frequently find artificial snow or closed terrain during the December-to-March season. At CNY 400 per adult day pass, the pricing is strikingly high for what amounts to a small training hill, making this poor value compared to established resorts anywhere in Asia. Off-piste skiing is non-existent (1/5 rating), so there's no backcountry escape route.

Visit only if you're in Anhui for other reasons and want a novelty experience, or if you're documenting China's ski development. Otherwise, invest your time and money in Yabuli, Jilin, or other established Chinese resorts with genuine terrain and better snow conditions.
