Skiaréna Písek ski resort

Skiaréna Písek is a beginner's training slope and local practice hill, not a destination resort. It suits families with young children, ski school pupils, and locals seeking a quick after-work run in the South Bohemian Region. The single lift and 0.2 km piste mean this is a learning facility, period - expect a 51 m vertical drop and a single run that you'll lap repeatedly in an afternoon.

The honest caveat is brutal: snow reliability is dire (14/100), so most winters you'll be skiing on artificial snow or not at all. The CZK 1200 day pass is eye-watering for what amounts to a practice slope - that's premium Alpine pricing for a Czech training ground. There is no off-piste terrain (1/5 rating), no terrain variety, and no reason to travel here unless you live nearby or are a ski school instructor.

If you're planning a ski holiday, look elsewhere. If you're a local or a parent teaching a child to snowplough, Skiaréna Písek fills a niche - but only in good snow years, and only if you accept paying resort prices for a glorified nursery slope.
