Frequently asked questions
Is the Epic Pass or the Ikon Pass cheaper?
On 7 October 2026 the full Epic Pass cost $1,145 and the full Ikon Pass $1,449; the restricted versions were $849 (Epic Local) and $1,019 (Ikon Base). Which works out cheaper depends on where and how many days you ski, which is what this calculator works out.
How many days do I need to ski for a pass to be worth it?
At typical Colorado and Utah window prices of roughly $200-335 a day, a full Epic or Ikon Pass usually pays for itself after about 4-7 days at its own resorts. Restricted and day-limited passes break even sooner but come with blackout dates or day caps.
What is the Indy Pass?
The Indy Pass ($419 adult on 7 Oct 2026) gives 2 days at each of 300+ independent ski areas, with blackout dates; Indy+ ($469) removes the blackouts. It suits skiers who like smaller, less crowded mountains.
What does the Mountain Collective include?
The Mountain Collective ($729 adult on 7 Oct 2026) gives 2 days at each of 27 destinations, such as Jackson Hole, Alta and Snowbird, plus discounts on extra days. It suits skiers planning several short trips to different famous mountains.
When do ski pass prices go up?
Epic prices rose after 7 October 2026 and Ikon after 8 October 2026. Both keep selling at higher prices into early December, when sales usually close for the season. Edit the prices in the calculator if they have changed.
How accurate are the day ticket prices?
They are typical 2025/26 adult window prices for a regular-season weekend, from each resort's published or reported prices. Most resorts now use dynamic pricing, and buying online in advance is usually cheaper, so treat the comparison as a guide.
