Ilgaz-2 Yurduntepe is a small, intermediate-focused resort in Turkish Anatolia that suits skiers seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience in the Balkans region, or those based in nearby Kastamonu looking for accessible local skiing. With 5.6 km of piste and six intermediate runs across 493 m of vertical, it is genuinely modest in scale - expect a few hours of skiing rather than a full day's exploration. The good snow reliability rating is a genuine asset for the region and season, and the intermediate-only terrain means the mountain is uncrowded and straightforward to navigate.

The critical caveat is the day pass price: TRY 800 is extraordinarily expensive for the terrain on offer, positioning this as a premium local resort rather than a value destination. The two-lift setup and lack of off-piste terrain (1/5 rating) mean there is little to do once you have skied the runs a few times. This is not a resort for advanced skiers, powder hunters, or anyone seeking variety. Snow reliability is merely "good" rather than excellent, so December and early March can be marginal.

We recommend Ilgaz-2 only for intermediate skiers with a specific reason to be in Kastamonu, or as a novelty addition to a broader Turkey itinerary. It is not worth a dedicated trip, and the pricing makes it a hard sell even for locals. Plan for a half-day visit at most.
