Fischenthal is a tiny, local hill for the Zurich metro area - not a destination resort. With just 3.2 km of piste, a single lift, and 225 m of vertical, it's a training ground for families and beginners within easy reach of the city. The run mix (2 easy, 2 intermediate, 1 advanced) is basic but functional for learners. At CHF 78 for a day pass, it's not cheap for what you get, and the variable snow reliability (17/100) means you'll often be skiing on artificial snow or finding the hill closed mid-season.

We'd recommend Fischenthal only if you live in or near Zurich and want a quick after-work or weekend session with kids. The lack of off-piste terrain (1/5 rating) and minimal vertical make it unsuitable for anyone seeking adventure or serious skiing. If you're visiting Switzerland for a proper ski holiday, look elsewhere - this hill will disappoint within a day. The season runs November to March, but don't expect consistent conditions.
