Arolla is a small, beginner-friendly resort in the Wallis region that suits families and skiers building confidence on groomed terrain. With 14 easy runs out of 20 total, it's a place where novices can spend whole days progressing without intimidation, and where parents can relax knowing the mountain is manageable. The excellent snow reliability (78/100) and modest elevation gain mean you're unlikely to face the slushy conditions that plague lower Swiss resorts in spring.

The honest caveats: at 15.8 km of piste, Arolla is genuinely small. Intermediate skiers will exhaust the terrain quickly, and there is virtually no off-piste opportunity (1/5 rating).
