Realp ski resort

Realp is a micro-resort in Uri that suits only the most niche skiers: those seeking a genuine, car-free mountain village experience or families with very young children who need a gentle slope to build confidence. With just 0.6 km of piste and a single lift serving a 96 m vertical, this is not a destination for anyone seeking varied terrain or a full day's skiing. The modest elevation (1546-1642 m) and good-but-not-excellent snow reliability mean conditions can be patchy, particularly in marginal seasons.

The honest appeal here is authenticity and intimacy. Realp remains refreshingly uncommercial - a working Alpine village where skiing is incidental to the landscape rather than its raison d'être. The CHF 78 day pass reflects the modest scale. This works as a half-day warm-up or a novelty visit for those already in the Uri region, but it cannot sustain a multi-day ski holiday. Off-piste potential is negligible (1/5 rating), so backcountry skiers should look elsewhere.

Come here only if you value character over vertical, or if you're introducing toddlers to snow. Everyone else should head to nearby Andermatt or Gemsstock for proper skiing infrastructure. Realp is a village with a ski slope, not a ski resort in any conventional sense.
