Zatrnik ski resort
Zatrnik is a micro-resort in the Slovenian Alps suited only to absolute beginners, young children, or those seeking a novelty experience rather than serious skiing. With just 0.2 km of piste, 24 m of vertical drop, and three lifts serving a 911 m to 935 m elevation band, this is a training hill masquerading as a ski area - think nursery slopes rather than a destination resort. The EUR 38 day pass is reasonable value for what it is, but you will exhaust the terrain in under an hour.
The honest caveats are severe: snow reliability is poor (18/100), meaning you'll frequently find the hill closed or slushy during the January-to-March season. Off-piste opportunities are non-existent (1/5 rating). There is no après-ski infrastructure, no village amenities, and no reason to stay overnight. This is a local practice hill for Slovenian families, not a ski holiday destination.
We'd recommend Zatrnik only if you're introducing a toddler to skis, need a quick refresher on flat terrain, or are collecting obscure Alpine resorts for bragging rights. For any serious skiing - even intermediate runs - look elsewhere in Slovenia or the broader Alps.
