Schöneben - Belpiano, Schöneben ski resort

Schöneben - Belpiano is a resort built for families and intermediate skiers who value accessibility and value over vertical ambition. The 65 km of terrain is modest but well-distributed across 52 runs, with a telling 34 easy runs suggesting this is genuinely beginner-friendly rather than just marketing speak. The EUR 55 day pass is genuinely competitive for the Alps, and the very good snow reliability (59/100) means you're not gambling on conditions in the December-to-April window. The 923 m vertical is respectable for a day's skiing without being punishing.

What you're not getting here is serious terrain or off-piste adventure - the 1/5 off-piste rating confirms this is a groomed-run resort, full stop. The 6 advanced runs suggest there's little to challenge strong skiers, and the modest elevation (base 1458 m) means spring conditions can deteriorate quickly. This is not a destination for powder seekers or those chasing vertical records. The 15 lifts suggest reasonable queuing, but the overall scale is intimate rather than sprawling.

Schöneben suits families with mixed abilities, skiers content with well-maintained pistes, and those prioritizing a relaxed pace and fair pricing over resort prestige. It's a solid, honest mountain in the Italian Dolomites - exactly what it claims to be, with no pretension and no nasty surprises.
