Malesco ski resort

Malesco is a tiny, low-altitude Piedmont resort suited only to local skiers seeking a quick fix or families with very young children who want minimal commitment. With just 20 km of piste, a single lift, and a vertical drop of 114 m, this is not a destination resort - it is a neighbourhood hill. The season runs December to April, but snow reliability is poor (15/100), meaning you will often find yourself on thin cover or artificial snow.

The honest caveat: at 795 m base elevation in the Alps, Malesco sits dangerously low for consistent snow. You are paying EUR 55 for a day pass at a resort that cannot reliably deliver skiable conditions. Off-piste is negligible (1/5 rating), so there is no powder escape route when the piste becomes tracked out. This is not a place to plan a winter holiday around.

We would only recommend Malesco if you live within 30 minutes and want a casual midweek run, or if you are teaching a toddler to snowplough and need the gentlest possible terrain. Otherwise, drive further into the Alps to Verbier, Courmayeur, or even the Dolomites, where snow is more reliable and terrain is vastly more interesting.
