Nassfeld, Mokrine ski resort

Nassfeld-Mokrine is a family-friendly, accessible resort in Carinthia that suits intermediate skiers and those prioritizing value and ease of access over extreme terrain or guaranteed snow. The 110 km of piste spread across 59 easy and 82 intermediate runs makes it ideal for learners, families, and cruisers who want to build confidence without steep commitments. The vertical drop of 1384 m and elevation range from 612 m to 1996 m deliver respectable variety for a regional Alpine resort, and the EUR 62 day pass is genuinely competitive for Austria.

The honest caveat: snow reliability is moderate at best (23/100), which means you should expect variable conditions and potentially thin cover in early and late season - this is a resort where timing matters. The off-piste rating of 1/5 signals there is virtually no backcountry skiing here, so advanced skiers seeking powder or steep lines will find the three advanced runs insufficient. With 29 lifts serving the terrain, crowds can be manageable, but this is not a destination for those chasing deep snow or challenging descents.

We recommend Nassfeld-Mokrine for families planning a November-April trip who value accessibility, gentle terrain, and budget-conscious pricing over powder days and extreme skiing. It works best as a mid-season visit when snow is more reliable, or as a warm-up resort for skiers building skills before tackling steeper terrain elsewhere.
