Morgedal ski resort
Morgedal is not a ski resort in any conventional sense - it is a tiny, single-lift operation in Telemark with just 0.4 km of piste and an 80 m vertical drop. It suits only the most niche audience: locals seeking a quick après-work run, families with very young children taking first lessons, or curious visitors wanting to experience Scandinavia's smallest ski area. The single lift and minimal terrain mean you will exhaust the skiing in minutes.
The critical caveat is snow reliability, rated at just 15/100 - Telemark's maritime climate means this area is unreliable for snow cover, and many days the hill may be closed or barely skiable. At NOK 650 for an adult day pass, the cost-to-terrain ratio is frankly absurd; you are paying premium rates for a glorified nursery slope. The season runs November to May in theory, but snow cannot be guaranteed.
We would only recommend Morgedal if you are already in the region and want a novelty visit, or if you are a ski completionist documenting Europe's tiniest lifts. For any serious skiing, look elsewhere in Norway - even modest regional resorts offer vastly more terrain and better value.
