Rena ski resort
Rena is a tiny, low-altitude resort in central Norway that suits only the most committed local skiers or those with extremely modest expectations. With just 3.6 km of piste, 215 m of vertical, and a base elevation of only 497 m, this is not a destination resort - it is a neighbourhood hill. The two lifts and minimal terrain mean you will exhaust the skiing in a single morning.
The critical weakness is snow reliability: a rating of 15/100 means Rena operates on borrowed time each winter. At such low elevation in Innlandet, snow is unpredictable and often thin. The variable season (December to April) offers no guarantee of skiable conditions. At NOK 650 for an adult day pass, you are paying premium Scandinavian prices for beginner terrain and unreliable snow - a poor value proposition by any measure.
Skip Rena unless you live within 30 minutes and have nowhere else to go. For a proper Norwegian ski experience, look to higher, more reliable resorts in the Lillehammer or Trysil regions instead.
