Vodyaniki ski resort

Vodyaniki is a tiny, budget-conscious resort in central Ukraine that suits only the most forgiving traveller - or locals looking for a quick slope fix. With just 1.5 km of piste, 61 m of vertical, and two lifts serving four runs, this is not a destination resort by any measure. The mountain itself is modest, rising from 164 m to 225 m, and the snow reliability is genuinely poor at 14/100, meaning you'll often find yourself on thin cover or artificial snow. The two easy and two intermediate runs offer nothing challenging, and the 1/5 off-piste rating confirms there's no backcountry escape route.

The real shock is the day pass price: UAH 1200 is eye-watering for what amounts to a local practice slope. That's premium Alpine pricing for a molehill. The season runs December to March, but given the variable snow, even those months offer no guarantee. There is no world in which we'd recommend flying to Ukraine specifically for Vodyaniki - it exists for Cherkasy locals who want to ski without leaving home, or perhaps as a curiosity for the truly adventurous. If you're serious about skiing, look elsewhere.
