Sobolinaya is a niche mountain for adventurous skiers willing to embrace extreme remoteness and unpredictability in exchange for novelty and isolation. Located in Irkutsk Oblast, deep in Siberia, this small resort suits experienced skiers seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience rather than reliable powder or groomed perfection. The 459 m vertical drop and modest 11.2 km of piste across 15 runs offer enough variety to keep a day or two interesting, with a reasonable spread of easy, intermediate and advanced terrain.

The honest caveats are substantial. Snow reliability is poor at just 15/100 - this is not a powder destination and conditions will be highly variable across the November-to-April season.
