Polomka - Bučník ski resort

Polomka - Bučník is a small regional resort in central Slovakia suited to local skiers, families seeking a modest day trip, and anyone curious about Eastern European skiing on a tight budget. It is not a destination resort. The mountain is genuinely tiny - 2.9 km of piste and 296 m of vertical - meaning you will lap the same four intermediate runs repeatedly in a single day. The EUR 48 day pass is refreshingly cheap, and the December-to-April season window is standard for the region.

The honest caveat is snow reliability: at 14/100, this is a significant weakness. With a base elevation of just 610 m and variable conditions typical of lower-altitude Central European resorts, you may arrive to find marginal or thin coverage. There is virtually no off-piste terrain (1/5 rating), so you are entirely dependent on groomed runs. Two lifts serve the mountain, which will feel adequate for the terrain size but means minimal choice on busy days.
