Piatra Neamt (Karácsonykő) - Dealu Cozla ski resort

Piatra Neamt is a tiny, local hill in eastern Romania that suits only the most forgiving traveller - someone visiting the Neamț region for other reasons who wants a casual half-day of skiing, or families with young children looking for a gentle introduction to the sport. With just 1.2 km of piste and a 260 m vertical drop, this is a training slope masquerading as a resort, not a destination in its own right. The two lifts and modest elevation gain mean you'll exhaust the terrain in an hour or two.

The honest caveat is snow reliability: at 14/100, conditions are highly variable and unpredictable across the December-to-March season. You cannot bank on finding skiable snow here, and there is zero off-piste terrain to explore when conditions are marginal. The EUR 35 day pass is cheap, but you're paying for convenience, not quality or variety. There are no amenities mentioned - no restaurants, no accommodation, no après-ski.

We'd recommend Piatra Neamt only as a novelty add-on to a broader Romanian holiday, or as a teaching hill for absolute beginners. Anyone seeking actual skiing should look elsewhere in the Carpathians or further afield to the Alps.
