Troják ski resort

Troják is a micro-resort suited only to absolute beginners, young children, or locals seeking a quick ski fix in the Zlín Region of eastern Czech Republic. With just 0.9 km of piste, 95 m of vertical, and five lifts serving a base elevation of 499 m, this is not a destination resort - it is a practice slope masquerading as a ski area. The appeal lies entirely in accessibility and affordability for nearby residents.

The honest caveat is brutal: snow reliability is dire (14/100), meaning you will frequently find yourself on thin cover or closed entirely during the December-to-March season. There is no off-piste terrain to speak of (1/5 rating), no intermediate or advanced skiing, and no reason whatsoever to travel here from outside the region. The CZK 1200 day pass is eye-wateringly expensive for what amounts to a glorified nursery slope - you could fly to the Alps for less.

Skip Troják unless you live within 30 minutes and need somewhere to teach a child to snowplough. Everyone else should look south to Austria or north to Poland's Tatras.
