Košťálka ski resort

Košťálka is a micro-resort suited only to absolute beginners, young children, or locals seeking a quick ski fix near Hradec Králové. With just 0.6 km of piste, 134 m of vertical, and two lifts, this is not a destination resort - it is a practice slope masquerading as a ski area. The modest 135 m elevation gain (629 m to 764 m) means snow reliability is poor at just 16/100, making winter visits a gamble.

The honest caveat: at CZK 1200 for an adult day pass, Košťálka is expensive for what it offers. You are paying premium prices for a beginner's hill with unreliable snow cover and virtually no terrain variety. Off-piste is a non-starter (1/5 rating). This is not a place to build real skiing skills or enjoy a proper mountain experience. If you are within 30 minutes' drive and want to introduce a toddler to skis on a quiet slope, fine - otherwise, travel the extra distance to a proper Czech resort like Špindlerův Mlýn or Harrachov.

Košťálka works as a local convenience slope during good snow years (December to March), but it should never be a primary ski holiday choice. Manage expectations ruthlessly.
